Here's what I think about Microsoft buying Activision Blizzard - Part 1

Gambar
So, here I am, it's 12:30pm Wednesday January 19th that evening, with the faithful help of my colleague in the Austin chair, I had just completed this week's first issue in video games for 2022. We went back and dug the December 2021 headlines and those steamy early weeks of January where you could last up to three or four days without having to know what day of the week it was, we were thorough and we were sure that we finished and rendered this episode at 12:30 Wednesday that there wasn't a single gaming news worth talking about that we didn't include in this episode and we were right and then 12 31 happened here , we are witnessing a historic moment in the Microsoft industry, Activision Blizzard for almost $69 billion, meaning Xbox owns it now, and tons more in a deal said to be worth almost $70 billion. Activision was acquired by Microsoft. It took my brain a long time to process what was going on [ __ ] headline at 12 31 on Jason schreier's twitter feed and I&

Hades Is Rather Special (Review) Part 2

To the beat of my own drum, as if I was always in control of my experience and how far I could get, there were unlocks that could only become available over time, but they felt like additional opportunities to deal damage or to survive, they felt like options to expand my arsenal and give me more choices in Hades. Their unlocks, like the talents, and the renovations all feel like the required keys needed to open the stage gates in your adventure, Risk of Rain 2 presents itself as a more classically inspired roguelike, with almost everything out of the box, making Hades feel more like a contemporary rogue light where anything becomes possible after you put in the hours I've already briefly hinted at the brilliance of Hades combat, but I want to come back to that to make sure it gets it's due in this video it really is absolutely superb the starting point is the weapon design which never falters with all six weapons available, every swing or shot is snappy and fulfills every mov

This video is brought to you by ExpressVPN. When it comes to media and entertainment, we continue to seek our satisfaction faster. In less than 20 years we have gone from ICQ to Snapchat, from CDs to Spotify, from DVD box sets to Netflix, from Broadsheet to Netflix twitter feed from youtube tiktok even within these new platforms, every effort is made to make things to further compress Most shows are limited to 10 minutes per pop, but the fact that they've built this multi-billion dollar platform around this time-based goal is that the educational attention spans are getting shorter, so things are speeding up and it happens in video games too mobile games by their very nature have always aimed to release a shot of endorphins in the same amount of time it takes to visit the throne room, but it happens in core games that are too legendary are still among the most popular Playing the world and has made numerous improvements over the years to take the game time from 45 minutes at the b

Fallout 76 - The Review (2018) - Part 2

It's the perfect example of how little effort Bethesda has put into every part of this game, instead of updating their UI for a new always-online impossible experience they just drag and drop UI from Fallout 4, whether a modder in three days better than Bethesda, which the [ __ ] Bethesda have been doing for three years, that point about the UI feeds into the last point I'm going to make about the game's technical performance, and that's the PC port issue this is one of the worst PC ports I've seen from a triple-A studio, especially one backed by such a strong PC community, in addition to basic options like refresh rate, field of view and ultra wide angle and a bunch of others For things that are simply missing, the user interface is ripped right out of the console controller setup and crudely smuggled into the keyboard and mouse setup. You have to use so many unnecessary keys here to do simple things because Bethesda hasn't bothered to pr properly configure ke

Recently on the Giantbomb podcast, Jeff Gerstmann said, you know someone asked me yesterday, like, "Hey, you know when you think your ratings are going to go up, and oh my god, nobody on the staff wants more of this video game like." Playing this one I'm not going to put myself through another 2030 hours of this [ __ ] mess, it's really specific, just to put a number on it, a number is [ __ ] don't play this game with 30 hours I've already put into Fallout 76 I've been striving to stop playing when I heard those words from Jeff, they were a revelation. I immediately closed the game and started writing this review scene you can literally have fun with a bag of fire [ __ ] especially if it's with friends whatever your personal opinion of this Fallout 76 is objectively a [ __ ] Game because it wasn't what was advertised to consumers, its technical condition would make the term alpha blush and there isn't a single new innovative or well-designed g

Destiny 2's Biggest Changes (Part 2)- Matchmaking & Clans...finally. - Part 1

This is part 2 of my three-part series covering the biggest changes for Destiny 2. In the previous video I was looking at the changes to player power fantasy, and in the last video I'm doing after e3 I'm going to be looking at the evolution of the solo player experience, but in this video I'm going to be looking at changes to those social Watch systems that back up destiny to be perfectly clear now that there will be no juicy revelations or new information or gutter in this video if you've been following destiny news up to this date you know clams and guided games, which are a form of matchmaking, are also coming to Destiny, and this video won't teach you anything new, but it will give you some insight into how Bungie came to that decision and what's important to them when they come across a talking about social experience, and to get that insight I had the rare opportunity to interview every Eung who is the Lead Social Designer for Destiny 2 at Bungie is. So i

It has some of that DNA and pace, but it's one of those things that I've gone back to and you know I played the original Unreal Tournament, still classic, still proud of everything we've done Okay, I think you're going to get the tremendous depth of the maps and the community and the new modes that are coming out and everything else, but you know you're the weapon you pick up in a game like this, that's that Biggest thing to keep in mind about speed, so I wanted to have the speed of these types of games but with the depth that a gamer expects from a modern game that has games like MOBAs and Overwatch and all these other titles now have abilities where, as you know, you take the map depth and transfer it to the player in character. When the game is going well, you just keep coming out with new stuff and shuffling the balance and hopefully keeping the community happy you think the balance will be like when you first start that bad boy. I think it's really goi
